Inca

Inca is the third largest town in Mallorca, situated centrally on the island. The capital of the region known as Raiguer; it is not a typical tourist destination, actually best known for its famous leather industry – The Camper shoe brand is produced here.

The town is a typical working Spanish town and here you will get a taste of daily Mallorcan life. The local council and government of Mallorca have taken steps to attract more visitors and as such have done much work in improving the appearance and renovating some of cultural interesting monuments and buildings.

About town
Over the last few years much of Inca’s town centre has been pedestrianised and  you can take a pleasant stroll around the local placas (squares) and palm-lined streets. The Placa Santa Maria Major is Inca’s main square, where there are some lovely cafes and bars, and the town’s main church, which is worth a visit.

Being a working town, Inca provides all the necessary amenities such as shops, bars and restaurants and services including a good public transport system, medical, post office, etc, that one needs on a holiday.

Places to visit
Aside from the capital Palma, Inca has one of the best transport systems on the island and as such you can easily explore Mallorca, using Inca as your base.

You can catch a bus or train to visit the towns and cities of Palma de Mallorca, Manacor and Sa Pobla, and the beach resorts of Cala Millor, Pollensa and Alcudia, to name a few.

Eating Out

Inca is an excellent destination if you want to enjoy some traditional Mallorcan cuisine. There are some excellent traditional restaurants serving great food and good value prices. Make sure you also try some a glass of the local wine.

Climate

Inca, as the rest of Mallorca, enjoys a typical Mediterranean weather, with mild winters and hot summers. During the months of July and August, the weather is hot and beautifully sunny, boasting around 11 hours of sun daily.

During the winter, the weather can get chilly, but generally you can enjoy fine, mild weather on most days.
