We stayed at the villa for 9 days but it was way to short. We enjoyed every bit of the vacation. You will need a car since the villa is on the hills and it's nice to visit some other places too. Roses is a cute little town and the beach is great. We regret we only went to the beach once on our last day. You should definitely go to Barcelona if you don't mind an 1,5 hour drive. We also went to Campdevànol to enjoy the route of 7 waterfalls (1,5 hour drive). I can definitely recommend this! Also Begur has very nice coves and beaches (1 hour drive). Let's talk about the villa. I can't praise the terrace, pool and view enough. We really love infinity pools. My brothers are fashion photographers and I am a fashion / travel blogger so we take a lot of photos to feature on my website. Diane the host, welcomed us with a big smile and was very helpful whenever needed. This was our first time renting a villa, we enjoyed it very much and will certainly rent again!

Very much enjoyed our stay at Villa in Roses. Diane and Clive were great hosts. And the pool was much appreciated by whole family!

The location of Casa Blanca is fantastic - amazing views over the bay and a feeling of seclusion and privacy being at the end of the road. The photos of the infinity pool and decking area don't do full justice - we spent the whole of our first day at the villa as we couldn't bring ourselves to head out! Also the benefit of having only one 'neighbour' is that to the side there are just olive trees and views towards the hills. Clive & Di, who manage the villa, were very friendly and responsive. They gave some great tips as to places to visit (fishing ports, family friendly beaches etc), where to shop and gave us a local map with activities (water park etc.) and different supermarkets marked on it. A short drive to the beach and quite a few beaches to choose from. Also the Dali museum at Figueres was less than a half hour drive away (though we found the road signs confusing in Figueres so best to look on a map first!). We had a couple of mishaps (locking the car keys in the villa as we were leaving for the airport and leaving a mobile phone behind) but Clive was really helpful in racing round to let us back in and mailing the phone on to us. We are a family of 4 so the villa had ample space. There are 3 obvious bedrooms so I think having more than 6 at the villa would be a bit of a squeeze (i.e. the 4th bedroom is a dayroom where the Wii is kept). There are plans to do more to make this room more of a 'bedroom' so it would be worth double checking if your group has more than 6. The gas BBQ out on the decking was great and, having a 3 year old who doesn't really like the heat, we made good use of the various canopies (on the decking and on the terrace) that can be easily 'wound out' to provide shade. The pool is a good size (a decent enough length to actually swim in) and has a shallow section at one end which meant that our 3 year old could stand and enjoy herself. For those with kids and unfamiliar with infinity pools, there is a gap of half a metre or so and then a second 'wall' behind the infinity pool so it isn't as 'dangerous' as one might otherwise assume. All in all an excellent holiday and we would happily return. Adam & Tania
