Sils
Sils is a town and municipality in the Girona Province of Catalonia, located in a particularly peaceful and beautiful region in Catalonia. The pretty rural town has a rich cultural heritage and is renowned for its delicious cuisine.
Sils is situated in an area occupied, by the most part, the old Sils Lake, which was desiccated in the 19th century. The local government is currently undertaking a project to restore part of the lake and natural vegetation.
The town is surrounded by a wonderful natural landscape, where visitors can enjoy walking, hiking or cycling along the many routes throughout the region.

Specialities of Girona include dishes such as rich goose with pears and the wonderful Gamba Roja de Palamós.

Sils enjoys long pleasantly hot, dry summers. Winter temperatures are cool but pleasant.
